Florida's New Medicaid Rules Will Be Effective
February 8, 2006 - New Medicaid Rules Become Federal Law The Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, containing many punitive measures regarding Medicaid asset transfer and eligibility rules, passed on a vote held late Wednesday afternoon by the U.S. House of Representatives on February 1,2006. The Act was narrowly passed by a vote of 216 to 214. On February 8,2006, President George W. Bush signed the legislation into federal law. Every state in the nation must implement and enforce these new rules within a short time period.
